Yuken Solenoid Coil

Yuken Solenoid Coil :

A solenoid is a coil of insulated or enameled wire wound on a rod-shaped form made of solid iron, solid steel, or powdered iron. Devices of this kind can be used as electromagnets, as inductors in electronic circuits, and as miniature wireless receiving antennas.

Purpose of solenoid coil :

When the ignition switch is turned on, a small electric current is sent through the starter solenoid. This causes the starter solenoid to close a pair of heavy contacts, thus relaying a large electric current through the starter motor, which in turn sets the engine in motion.

Solenoid coils working :

Solenoid is the generic term for a coil of wire used as an electromagnet. It also refers to any device that converts electrical energy to mechanical energy using a solenoid. The device creates a magnetic field from electric current and uses the magnetic field to create linear motion.

Needs of solenoid :

When the ignition key is turned all the way to the "start" position, it allows electricity to flow to the starter solenoid (relay) which then connects the battery to the starter motor. ... The reason being that some circuits (such as the starter) in a car require a tremendous amount of current.

An ideal solenoid :

It is well known that the longitudinal magnetic field outside an ideal solenoid (i.e., one that is wound infinitely tightly and that is infinitely long) is zero. ... After all, the solenoid is infinite in length and hence extends to infinity.
